Forced System Maintenance

Yesterday I noticed the power supply in the server was getting really hot. Today the power flickered in my house. When I lost my full month of uptime, I decided it was time to do some “repairs”. The power supply now has a working fan. The websites are now mounted in the case with actual screws and should survive at least a two on the richter scale. Anyone want to throw down for a battery backup? Let me know if there’s any funky problems. Services seem to be fine.
We continue to get what appear to be brownouts. Lights dimming, computers turning off, etc. If your website disappears later in the day either I turned the server off for safety, or it was killed by the power company.
After being off most of the day a APC Back-UPS XS 1000 was setup for the server. It’s powering all essential equipment and a few other miscellaneous items. Things should be much safer during power outtages from now on. Strangely enough, I had a computer that’s been off for months turn ON during this last one.
