My Audigy 2
Published:
Made another purchase for my computer yesterday. This time it was a sound card. The onboard sound on my Asus K8V was decent, but in Linux it was choppy and below average. I’m sure I’ve bitched about it in my earlier posts. Anyways. While at work I did a little research on what Creative sound cards work in *nix and concluded that any Audigy 2 would do, just long as I stay away from the LS if possible. So I did. For $100 at BBuy I walked out with an Audigy 2 ZS. Worked in my Linux install without having to install any extra drivers. Better yet, I dont have ESD issues (or seem to need it) like I did previously. So things are looking good. I haven’t even booted into Windows to make it work there :-P
