Norton Ghost Under Linux

less than 1 minute read

I’ve come up with a way to use Norton Ghost (DOS Version) under Linux via DOSEMU. It’s more of a proof of concept than anything else, but it does work. I assume the reader is familiar with Linux, Ghost, and DOSEMU. For now I’ve just tested this on my desktop, ghosting one partition to a gho file on another. However, it is theoretically possible, with a knoppix cd, to ghost hard drives or partitions to network shares via samba and ghost. I’ll leave those details up to the reader for now, but here’s the step by step of how I did it on my Debian desktop.
