Oil From The Core

Ever since I heard (can’t remember where) that certain empty oil wells were producing oil again I stopped believing as I was taught that oil comes from decayed dinosaurs and other remains. Apparently I am not alone, and this has been a theory for quite some time. At least since 1986! I just did a Google search and came up with an article as the first result - Oil & gas from the earth’s core. Hopefully this find is not a fluke and this idea continues to be explored because since I was a small child I thought the idea was dumb that oil came from dead things. It seems more logically that it is some byproduct of Earth’s own core processes. Doesn’t it?
