Red Lights
Published:
It astonishes me the number of times I find myself sitting at a red light when there are no cars around. Why aren’t all lights on sensors? Why should I be forced to stop when there are no other cars around, or coming? Why after I stop, legitimately, for a line of traffic must I sit at the light for another two minutes before it changes? Ridiculous I say, and it needs to change. Never should I be sitting at a light when there is no cross traffic coming or going. I’m sure with just a few sensors in the road and some basic logic that this would never need to happen. I just wonder how much this would save the United States in oil costs. As my new car manual says… idling results in zero miles per gallon!
